Phases inbetween

What a phase it has been. I seem old, I seem mean.

My friends pass in between.

They slide into each - the phases I mean,

From now and there on,

And past and present =

Equal regimes.

It's like ghosts gather all around us,

Which five years ago seemed wolverine.

Now they entice us into their shadows 

Where past and present intertwine

To birth the bastard supreme. 

Were you there - when it had snowed last

When the dust settled down their heat.

Were you there - when the crows had cried

Their last herald screaming out a scream

Of those red dreams,

Of those white dreams.

Even in the last decade

When I had sung aloud

Of the flaming towers supreme.

Even in the last decade 

When the weapons trade

Was still a debate?

Were you there?

When it had snowed

Last on the hills

And the cannons screamed?

When the fires of God

Had ravaged the earth

Of the unborn seeds?
